This is how the line should look after it has been pulled tight again. You may need to massage the line a little to get the weave to lay flat from all of the bunching. Some line has some wax coating on it and that may need to be massaged and worked for the braid to return back to its normal state. After the braid is tight, you will not notice any difference in the line at all other than the spliced end will be larger in diameter and you may have a small double-line area where the pigtail and the inverted line come together. Other than that, the line should be perfectly smooth and very nice looking.
